On this occasion, we were able to speak with Jérôme Pasquet, CEO of Peek'in, with a long and successful career in the international hospitality sector (Serunion, Àrees, for example), who is leading the development of this project to make the our service the standard for the management of forgotten objects in the hotel world in the coming years.

PeeK'in is one of the more than 70 members of the Tech Tourism Cluster, can you please tell us briefly about the main elements of your organization?

PeeK'in is a startup created at the end of 2017 by Jérôme PASQUET that makes available to hoteliers a complete solution that simplifies and automates the management of the many forgotten objects (9 million every year in Spain).

Present in England, France and Spain, we already help more than 400 hotels, from 1 to 5 GL stars and from 15 to 1000 rooms, to download those of this heavy topic, and allow them to retain each guest who has forgotten something at the hotel

Including the duo of experienced managers (Jérôme Pasquet, CEO and Jérôme Dumas, CTO), the startup team is made up of 13 professionals: IT service, sales, marketing and, of course, the customer follow-up service.

We are passionate about providing exceptional customer service to assist them in their day-to-day lives, as we strongly believe that this dedication is essential to achieving our ambition to become the European standard in the management of near-forgotten objects years

How is your participation in this tourism technology cluster contributing to the improvement of innovation and development of your company or organization?

Being part of the Cluster allows us to find innovative companies and startups in the world of tourism. We serve the same cause, we serve the same clients, or at least the same types of clients. At one point or another, our services complement each other. We can exchange ideas about what's at stake, about our tools, and think about how we can join forces, for example, to create interfaces that allow our common customers to save even more time and enjoy better service.

Also PeeK'in is developing the new object registration interface using artificial intelligence to enhance its automation. This area of AI is shared by all members of the Cluster, assuming that it will be needed by many organizations in the sector.

In the context of this Cluster, what collaboration and networking opportunities have already presented themselves for your company or organization in terms of new projects or strategic alliances?

This year, for example, we are organizing a networking day with potential clients and Group companies. It was arranged as a speed dating. 15 minutes to introduce ourselves and explain what we do and the service we provide. I had never done this before, but it was very effective! It allowed me to find 8 contacts within 2 hours. Two hours, 8 meetings, 8 opportunities. There is no time to talk about the weather, only what we can build together.

In addition, PeeK'in is a French startup that arrived in Spain only a few months ago. We must understand the local economic and cultural context with great humility. Although hoteliers face the same problems and challenges here as anywhere else in Europe, each country and each community has its own specific characteristics.

How has the exchange of knowledge and experiences between member companies influenced the creation and adoption of more advanced technological solutions in the tourism industry or initial proposals in this area?

The Cluster has allowed us to find companies that develop complementary solutions to ours. Hoteliers and lodging professionals need tools to talk to each other. In the year 2024, when we keep talking about Artificial Intelligence, we need to offer our customers platforms that avoid the double entry of data. Thanks to the Cluster, we are studying the possibility of creating interfaces with PMS or Housekeeping software.

From the perspective of the Cluster, what main contribution does your company or organization make to the tourism technology ecosystem and the promotion of the growth of other member companies and of the cluster itself?

Peekin allows accommodation professionals to professionalize the management of the many items forgotten by their customers. What used to take minutes to manage is now done in seconds with our complete solution. How does it benefit you? Allowing hoteliers to focus on the essentials: pampering guests who are still in the establishment while automatically providing a new after-sales service to those who have already gone home.

The Cluster is made up of innovative companies. Together, we bring new ideas to improve the service that our clients in the world of tourism can offer their customers. The Cluster also allows you to learn about the educational ecosystem of tourism and its specialized universities. We bring our ideas to the students, who feed us yours. It is a process that creates a virtuous circle.
