On this occasion we were able to speak with Mariona Bragulat, Senior Director of Sales Spain & Portugal, Hospitality, Amadeus, she has more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry with a focus on the field of technological innovation for hotels. After her time at TRUST International, she started working at Amadeus in 1999, and as a sales director she has contributed her extensive knowledge to hotels in Spain and Portugal advising them to optimize their strategies and achieve success.
Amadeus is one of the more than 80 members of the Tech Tourism Cluster, can you please tell us briefly about the main elements of your organization?
Amadeus began its career in the hotel sector in 2013 with the acquisition of Newmarket. By the time TravelClick was acquired in 2018, Amadeus had established itself as one of the leading global technology providers to the hotel industry, offering a portfolio of solutions that cater to every stage of the guest's travel experience.
Amadeus helps hoteliers respond to the industry challenges of today and the future, implementing hotel management strategies and business intelligence solutions, marketing and distribution, reservation engine, guest management, solutions for MICE and housekeeping, among others, so that hoteliers can attract their most profitable demand, improve operational efficiency and elevate the experience of their guests.
How is your participation in this tourism technology cluster contributing to the improvement of innovation and development of your company or organization?
From the moment we heard about the Cluster we knew that, as a leading technology company in the sector, we had to be part of this journey. We are excited to be able to share our experience and connect with the professionals and universities that play a fundamental role in the transformation of the sector.
By collaborating with various companies and stakeholders, we gain and share valuable insights into emerging patterns, technological advances, and evolving consumer demand and trends.
In the context of this Cluster, what collaboration and networking opportunities have already presented themselves for your company or organization in terms of new projects or strategic alliances?
Joining the Cluster has offered us a unique advantage, beyond networking opportunities, we interact with new and existing partners in different formats, which allows us to develop new points of contact for the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
In specialized working groups, we delve into case studies, exchanging perspectives on how companies organize and operate, leading us to explore new projects and strategic alliances.
We are very proud to be part of this experience and to have been able to support the cluster members by putting them in touch with units of the global Amadeus organization, establishing connections to explore mutually beneficial opportunities and support the development of the travel industry
How has the exchange of knowledge and experiences between member companies influenced the creation and adoption of more advanced technological solutions in the tourism industry or initial proposals in this area?
Through the dedicated working groups we have been able to deepen our knowledge on specific topics. Our commitment to innovation and building strategic partnerships is fully aligned with the cluster's goals, fostering a thriving ecosystem and supporting the collective progress of the tourism technology field.
From the Cluster's perspective, what main contribution does your organization make to the tourism technological ecosystem and the promotion of the growth of other member companies and of the Cluster itself?
As a leading provider of technology for the hotel sector, we share knowledge gained working with hotels of all sizes and about the innovations we are applying in our extensive portfolio of solutions. We are also in a unique position, having perspectives that include hotel, airline, travel search data, etc., to understand emerging trends on a global scale and by market.
Thanks to our strategic partnerships with reference numbers in the industry, we have first-hand access to new functionalities and specialized knowledge. This allows us to highlight developing patterns and strategies of proven success, helping the companies in the cluster to respond and adapt better to strengthen the development of the travel industry.
