The first-ever Tech4Travel Summit, organized by the Tech Tourism Cluster, took place on November 13th and 14th at the beautiful Hotel San Jorge Park & Spa in Calonge. Designed to become a benchmark event for the TravelTech sector, this inaugural edition was a remarkable success.
Across the two-day summit, attendees enjoyed over 10 keynote speeches and panel discussions focusing on tourism, technology, and innovation. Topics included AI, revenue management, and emerging technologies for Generation Z, among many others.
During the panel discussion "A Journey to the Cloud", Matteo Conte, Senior Sales Manager at Huawei Cloud, highlighted the cloud’s critical role in data protection, product scalability, and operational efficiency, showcasing the advantages of a secure and robust cloud system.
One standout panel featured INDESCAT, the sports cluster, alongside companies operating in sports and tourism. They discussed how sports tourism can act as a lever to decentralize popular destinations and promote other areas, bringing balance to tourism distribution across the territory.
Moreover, three workshops were offered, allowing participants to choose topics of personal interest like Cybersecurity, SEO in Tourism or Disruptive Communication.
What truly set the Tech4Travel Summit apart were the networking opportunities. From a cocktail workshop to a yoga session by the sea, the summit fostered a relaxed and collaborative environment for participants to connect and exchange ideas.
We cannot ask for more than the great attendance, participation and the good atmosphere that was breathed in the 1st Tech4Travel Summit of the Tech Tourism Cluster 🎉
1️⃣ “Mastering AI today is as powerful as mastering fire in the past.” – Jon Hernández | Speaker
2️⃣ Not being on the cloud means falling behind. The present is in the cloud, and all systems must embrace multi-management.
3️⃣ Sports tourism must serve as a tool to decentralize popular destinations and highlight lesser-known areas.
4️⃣ The tourism industry is about delivering happiness, but we often fail to ensure the happiness of those working within it. A change is necessary.
5️⃣ Technology should be invisible—guests don’t seek “tech hotels” but instead simple and seamless experiences.
6️⃣ Outsource revenue management, but make external partners feel part of the team.
7️⃣ To unlock data’s full potential, we must understand tourism. Tourism and ICT should be prioritized equally.
8️⃣ TikTok is emerging as a primary search engine for Generations Z and Alpha, surpassing Google and YouTube in some cases.
Our goal was to break the daily routine, create space for reflection, and inspire participants on topics that directly impact the growth of their businesses, and we succeeded!
Thank you all for making it possible!
🔥 We look forward to seeing all of you at the 2025 Tech4Travel Summit!
