Celebració del 1er aniversari del Tech Tourism Cluster

Last March 31, the Tech Tourism Cluster celebrated its first anniversary, at the Hotel Royal Passeig de Gràcia, with the participation of prominent professional leaders and authorities in the tourism sector.

Established by the General Directorate of Tourism and ACCIÓ, this entity aims to group and link companies with hybrid business models between technology and tourism with agents of the technological and knowledge ecosystem, such as universities and research centers.

Félix Navarro, President of the entity, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the successes achieved in the first year of the cluster's life, emphasizing "the DNA of the Tech Tourism Cluster which is based on the development of the competitiveness of the technology linked to the tourism sector in the territory of Catalonia".

During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn more about strategic business innovation thanks to the presentation by Enric Bayó, ACCIÓ's Business Model Manager, who made the sector reflect on whether they are applying business strategies innovative in their companies to guarantee the durability and efficiency of the business fabric. In addition, the event was marked by the intervention of Marta Domenech, Director General of Tourism, who highlighted "the importance of tourism technology as a tool to face the challenges presented in the National Commitment for responsible tourism", which it was just presented at the end of March.

The session concluded with the intervention of Xavier Garcia, Cluster Manager of the entity, who presented the upcoming outstanding actions of the cluster, thus highlighting the constitution of the first two working groups: the working group on blockchain and web3 and, on the other hand, the talent development work group.

International presence


Following the strategic lines of the entity, the next international actions were explained during the event, with the presence at prominent fairs in London and an inspirational trip to the Scandinavian ecosystem.



The event concluded with a networking session among the more than 55 attendees, which allowed participants to exchange ideas and establish new business relationships.
